Jhonny was born to a musical family and started learning about music at an early age. He joined a band at the age of 15 and afterwards worked the hotel circuit on his island home. After continuing study under his father he started to gain recognition and began to perform with the greats of Mauritian music such as Ernest Weihe, Eric Triton, Belingo Faro and Rajni Lallah. Jhonny then opened his own music school whilst becoming known due his performances as the “The Best Drummer in Mauritius”. Jhonny migrated to China in 2006, to Beijing and then to Shanghai where he soon became a mainstay of the local music scene, performing at JZ Club regularly and finding success with the “Lions of Puxi” band. Jhonny is a natural musician and music teacher who expounds musical knowledge in a unique but effective manner.
