Jeremy Lasry (France)

Jeremy Lasry is an accomplished musician from Paris France.He excels at Acoustic and Electric Guitar Bass with Fretless & 5 strings instrument. Also, adding to his talents, he plays Acoustic Guitar, Gypsy Swing Guitar (with a deep rooted style of Django Reinhardt) and the Trumpet.

‘Dr. Jay’ began his musical career studying and playing classical Double Bass with an Orchestra in Paris. He also recorded and played on a variety of CDs with a Yiddish quartet featuring renowned vocalist ‘Talila’, playing classical Yiddish Folk songs as well as Jazz and original material.

Most recently has been performing with Swing Dynasty and the power trio Wayne’s Basement.

In the summer of 2005, Jay diversified his talents once again and traveled to China.  He stayed in Shanghai to play at prestigious venues like JzClub, CJW, Cotton Club and Fives stars hotels, to name a few, as well as special one off parties and events around China with various bands and styles of music.

‘Dr. Jay’ s passion for music and technique on Bass and Guitar is what sets him apart from other musicians. His dedication to mastering the classical approach of using a string-bow is seldom seen on the jazz scene yet it sets alight the tune and takes it to another level on stage.  

He is persistent in exercising different methods of playing his guitar & bass by perpetually honing his craft, perfecting his dexterity and taking concepts as well as techniques from the masters like, Django Reinhardt and Paco DeLucia to create a sound that is purely “Dr. Jay!”
